Bob Kohlenberg received his doctorate at UCLA and is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Washington where he served as the Director of Clinical training. He is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology and received the Washington State Psychological Association’s Distinguished Psychologist Award. His research focuses on the development of Functional Analytic Psychotherapy and has published several books and papers, including Functional Analytic Psychotherapy: A guide for creating intense and curative therapeutic relationships (co-authored with Mavis Tsai). He has also contributed contextual behavioral genetic material to help produce his daughter, Dr. Barbara Kohlenberg, a distinguished contextual analyst, talented clinician, teacher, researcher, and co-author.
